My summer to-do list:
- Live and serve cross-culturally
- Grow in character
- Develop leadership skills
- Reshape my world through a living faith
Experience the adventure of immersing yourself in another culture through SENT Intensive. As God’s people, we are all sent out to live into the call of being disciples in a world of injustice. SENT Intensive gives you the opportunity to stretch yourself and fully embrace what you believe within another context. You will come home ready to see the world in a whole different way and put faith into action within your own community.
Who can apply? Young adults aged 18-25 who love Jesus and His Church, with a desire to experience faith in a global context. Previous international experience is an asset but not required.
When does this take place? May – July 2019
Where will I be going? Roxas City, Capiz Province, Philippines
What will I do? You will live and serve alongside local churches in the Philippines in a variety of places, including: hospitals, seminaries and schools, agricultural projects, business initiatives and much more. You will learn from and reflect on your experiences with CBM Field Staff Michael and Melanie Waddell.
Will I be trained? Participants will meet online each month for 8 months leading up to departure for team building, prayer and training on integral mission and cultural intelligence. In addition there is a formal orientation period in Toronto just before you leave. After the conclusion of the intensive there will be a time
of formal debrief to help you re-enter and discern next steps.
How much does this cost? We’ve worked hard to keep costs low at just $2,200/month ($6,600 total). This includes flights from Toronto, insurance, and all ground costs such as accommodations, meals, in-country travel and project costs. You can also raise funds to support your trip. All donations over $10 are tax-receipt eligible.
What is the deadline to apply? All applications must be received by September 14, 2018. Selected participants will be notified no later than September 28, 2018.
